Periodically we open our studio for former students and experienced kiln workers to use our equipment to make art. We don't provide instruction during that time but we are there to help you use the equipment and will probably be making our own art right beside you. Come join us.

Warm Studio Open Lab

This class is not open for registration yet. It requires a minimum of 4 to sign up prior to opening. If you would like to register to be notified when the workshop will be available, add your name to the waitlist. There is no obligation or deposit required to be on the waitlist.

Rental description

Open studio is exactly what is sounds like, a time for artists to work cooporatively together in a shared space. Blocks will be generally be in 3 hour intervals. Access includes use of the Warm shop tools and space including:

Tables
Cutting & cleaning tools
Kiln furniture, fiber frax and thinfire.
1/4 shelf for a single fuse (10"x10")
Cold shop - tile cutter, vertical wet belt sander and fordam tool (requires completion of checkout test)

This rental does not include:

Glass, enamels or powders
Instruction

KILN SCHEDULES

MGW will fire the kilns for those using studio time. If multiple students require different firing schedules, we will load & unload the kilns as required to complete both schedules.

ADD ONs

We do carry bullseye glass. We can sell separately if required.
Additional kiln shelf space in the GL-24 or in the 7' bell kiln can be made available if arranged prior.

SAFETY

Safe operations are required at all time. Failure to do so will result in the removal of future rental privileges. We provide safety eyewear for the studio. We DO NOT carry additional respirators for those working with powders. If you wish to work with powders, you must contact us in advance for approval.
