Open Studio - Cold Shop only

Service Description

We open our studio for former students and experienced kiln workers to use our equipment to make art. We don't provide instruction during that time but we are there to help you use the equipment and will probably be making our own art right beside you. Come join us! INCLUDES - Time: Open Studio is open from 9-12 Saturday mornings. - Cold shop only is also open from 2p-5p most Thursdays and Fridays on a first come first serve basis. Prior reservation required (3days). - Tools: Includes access to Flatbed grinder, Vertical belt sander, two axis covington grinding wheels, drill press, tile/glass saw, ring saw, and Foredom rotary tool. COST Two ways to purchase: 1. By the hour - $25hr 2. Monthly subscription - $100/month for 8 hours per month. DOES NOT INCLUDE - Specialty wheels and disks. We have most grits of belts and disks. You are welcome to bring your own, but please label them. PREREQUISITES Safety - All participants must follow MGW safety rules at all times. For first time Studio members, we will provide a walk through sign off on each piece of cold working equipment prior to allowing you to work on your own in the cold shop. Friendliness - This is a working art studio. Artists helping artists. You are welcome to bring food, beverage and music, whatever makes you comfortable while making art. But do so with a respectful attitude to those sharing the space and tools please. Members are expected to clean up their space and reset equipment after use. ADDITIONAL BENEFITS Recurring members using subscriber plans are considered MGW studio artists, and so receive 20% discount on public event tickets and Kiln classes/workshops.
