Summer Sand Castle Casting Party '24

Join us for a special event. Tell your friends, tell your family, and join us to hang out together in our hot glass studio, enjoying appetizers and beverages while socializing and making art in a medium you've likely never tried before...cast molten glass!

Party participants will, with the assistance of Monterey GlassWorks artists, over 3 hours, create glass sculpture pieces. Pre-shaped forms are pressed into casting sand, then molten glass from our furnace is gathered and ladled into sand forms. Each party participant can bring objects to press into the sand to form glass sculptures. 

Don't worry, you don't have to be a professional sculptor to enjoy it. We'll have plenty of shapes for you to choose from, or you can bring your own, (or use your hand, face or feet!) The purpose is to have fun making art with friends in a way few ever get to do. 

We will have appetizers, beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages available for guests and the entire studio (including gallery) will be open to attendees.

Attendance is capped at 30 persons. 

Some Details:

PICKUP - You completed works will need to be annealed for about 24 hours before they are ready for pick up, which you can do anytime during our working hours in the week that follows. 

SHIPPING - If you are coming in from out of town and need us to mail finished pieces to you, that is extra, but let us know and we are happy to do so. 

AGE - This is a family friendly event and minors are welcome as long as they are accompanied by adults. 

CANCELATIONS AND NO SHOWS - These things happen, we understand. If you will let us know in advance (7days) we will fully refund the ticket and make it available to the first up on the waitlist. Cancellations within 7days of the event will receive a 50% refund. No shows will not be refunded.
